SEX AND THE CITY

After the sitcom, the movie !

Everyone knows the sitcom: faithful to the format, the movie relates the story of four bests friends, their loves and their lives with a lot of humor and sincerity.

No taboos, everything is happening, and the spectator can't help but smile following the protagonists in their latest adventures!

From my point of view, this movie was like most movies that try to adapt a sitcom to the big screen.
In other words nothing was new...

Sex and the City is Sex and the City, and the result was without great surprise !

27 dresses

This movie is a real fairy tale. What girl doesn’t dream of meeting her prince charming? But this story doesn’t begin like a dream: In this movie, the heroine hasn’t the perfect life. It seems to be a little bit pathetic… She plays the role of bridesmaid in a lot of weddings. She has a closet replete with some ridiculous dresses but never the one: the wedding dress. She is totally in love with her boss but has never told him. One day, her beautiful sister comes to New York and meets perchance her sister’s boss. They fall in love and poor Jane is in charge of organizing of their wedding!
But of course, she will find her prince charming and be happy for the rest of her life. I won’t tell you who and how. Just know that this funny and romantic movie is the perfect chic flick: love, tears, beautiful guys and laughs!

Bienvenue chez les Chtis (“Welcome to the North of France”)

The North: What a wonderful region of France! That’s what I thought when the movie ended. It was so funny and affecting!
When my friend called me to go to cinema and watch “Bienvenue chez les Ch’tis” with Dany Boon, my first reaction was: Oh my god, I love this girl but am I really obliged to see that? It seems so heavy handed: just a way to make fun of people who live in the North of France. Furthermore, I don’t really appreciate Dany BOON’s sense of humor.
In fact I was really surprised, I totally loved this movie. I was between laughs and tears. The characters are likeable. At the end, you really want to take a trip to “Bergues”! My advice: If you want to have good time, this is the movie for you! Have a nice trip North!

MySpace partners with 3 majors for new music site

The battle between the 3 majors leaders Universal Music Group, Sony BMG and Warner Music Group and the music site MySpace ended.
They will launch an online music venture “MySpace Music” designed to turn the social networking site’s trove of musician profile pages into portals for selling everything from concert tickets and band merchandise to the music itself. This is the new music industry business model.
What will happen exactly?
MySpace will enable artists to sell music downloads, concert tickets, merchandise such as t-shirts through their profile pages and ringtones through News Corp’s Jamba mobile service unit (which owns MySpace).
Fans also will be able stream audio and video for free through the profile pages.

REM release new album on Facebook and MySpace

After Radiohead who allowed fans to decide how much they were prepared to pay for their new album “In Rainbows”, REM debute “Accelerate” across the web too.

Rem are to share their new album on social-networking sites a week before its official release in shops.
The album, Accelerate, will be available for streaming through the I Like application. I Like users will be able to listen the complete album and embed the album on their Facebook, MySpace and Bebo social-networking profile pages.
Other innovation for the group, they invite fans to create their own music video for the album’s first single “Supernatural”.
The music landscape has changed!

Accelerate will be the 14th studio album in a career of two decades for my favourite band.
And their decision to stream the album online first before its physical release is another example of music companies and bands embracing a new digital landscape.
Like Michael Stipe (REM’s lead singer) said about new technologies: “ I think you can either go with it or sit back and watch it happen. I would rather be out on the field than in bleachers”.

There’s an interesting battle between Facebook proper and I Like over will be the mainstay of music on the social utility. To follow...
